Spring Leaf Bag Collection: April 13-24

The Municipality of South Huron will begin spring leaf bag collection starting Monday, April 13, through Friday, April 24. To ensure your leaves are collected, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

• Weekly Pickup: There is no set day for specific streets; bags will be collected weekly as weather permits.
• Bag Requirements: Only biodegradable paper bags will be accepted.
• Weight & Contents: Bags must weigh no more than 23kg (50lbs) and must contain only leaves/yard debris (no garbage or animal feces). Overweight or contaminated bags will be left curbside.
• Post-Collection: Once the period ends on April 24, staff will no longer collect items curbside. However, residents may take leaves and debris to the South Huron Landfill free of charge at any time.

Fall Leaf Bag Collection: Until November 24

The Municipality of South Huron has announced that Fall Leaf Bag Collection has been extended for all residents until Monday, November 24th.

Key Collection Guidelines:

1. Bag Type: Only biodegradable paper bags will be collected. Plastic bags are not accepted.
2. Weight Limit: Bags must weigh no more than 23 kg (50 lbs). Staff will not pick up any overweight bags.
3. Contents: Bags must contain leaves only. Staff will reject bags containing garbage, household waste, or animal feces.

Important Note on Scheduling:

Collection does not happen on a specific day. Staff will pick up bagged leaves on a weekly basis throughout this extended period, as weather conditions permit.

What Happens After November 24th?

Once the collection period officially ends on Monday, November 24th, municipal staff will no longer pick up any items set curbside.

You may, however, take your leaves and yard debris to the South Huron Landfill free of charge at any time.

The OPAi Meeting will be held on Thursday September 18th from 7:00pm – 9:00pm via Zoom.
